Bonuses & free bets
An offer is only as good as its small print, and in New Zealand the small print belongs to the provider. This section is about reading that print against what the law does and does not say.
Free bets and sign-up offers come first, followed by no-deposit bets and the loose marketing phrase “free sports betting”. Matched betting is described as a technique that feeds on offers and is not presented as a method. TAB runs bonus bets under its own conditions.
The size of a betting bonus and its wagering terms are not covered by any established New Zealand rule. The NZ$100 and 200% cap sits with licensed online casinos. DIA’s view is that a company making offshore offers of this kind is breaking the law.
